Weddings, Birthdays and other Events

Over the last ten years Villa Petrus has been the venue of choice for numerous weddings and special birthday celebrations. With its beautiful views and gardens, pool terrace and massive wrap around verandahs, the Villa offers a unique venue in Tobago for such special events.

It has a very large table on the verandah which is perfect not only for these special occasions but also for corporate events such as an annual strategy day.

Villa Petrus now has its own air-conditioned wine cellar fully stocked with both everyday drinking and high quality wines. It is managed by Gabriele who runs La Tartaruga restaurant and he will be happy to both advise on the wine and offer catering services.

Our standard terms and conditions for these events is as follows.

Availability
Weddings and birthday bookings are only available to guests who book a minimum of two night’s accommodation for the whole Villa at standard high, middle or low season rates.

Number of Guests
No more than 50 unless agreed and normally with a larger damage deposit

Event fee
Weddings and Birthdays: US$1,200

Corporate strategy day: US$600 if vacated before 5pm and $1200 if for both day and night use.

Damage deposit
A damage deposit of US$2,000 which will be fully refundable if there is no damage following an inspection by our Managing Agent. An additional standard deposit (50%) is required for the accommodation.

Payment terms
50 percent is payable on acceptance of the booking with the balance payable one month prior to arrival.

Security
One security guard is provided at night in accordance with our standard terms and conditions. For weddings and birthdays we require guests to pay for an extra security guard so that one guard is at the gate and one is at the guard booth on the night of the wedding as the gate will inevitably be left open at some stage if someone is not on duty.

Parking
No more than 3 cars to be parked in the Villa grounds. However, guests can make arrangements with our caretaker/gardener (who lives opposite) and other neighbours who can accommodate parking for numerous cars for a small fee.

Music
The Villa has its own high quality sound system but guests are welcome to use their own or to hire a band at their own expense.

Finishing time
The celebration can continue as long as desired but no loud music or other noise is to be made after 1 am.

Food
We strongly recommend the use of a catering firm with waiters for serving food. Our Managing Agent can help to organize this but the costs will be paid in full by guests. We recommend a discussion with the manager of our wine cellar, Gabriele who runs La Tartaruga restaurant and can offer high quality catering.

Wine
The Villa has its own air conditioned cellar fully stocked with both everyday drinking and high quality wines.

Special conditions
No one will be allowed inside the Villa, except to use the toilet downstairs
No stiletto heels allowed inside the house when visiting the toilet
Swimming in the pool is strictly forbidden during the wedding or birthday celebration.
No modifications to the Villa are allowed other than the placement of floral and other similar decorations.
